Market memory and fat tail consequences in option pricing on the expOU stochastic volatility model

چکیده

Abstract The expOU stochastic volatility model is capable of reproducing fairly well most important statistical properties of financial markets daily data. Among them, the presence of multiple time scales in the volatility autocorrelation is perhaps the most relevant which makes appear fat tails in the return distributions. This paper wants to go further on with the expOU model we have studied in Ref. [1] by exploring an aspect of practical interest. Having as a benchmark the parameters estimated from the Dow Jones daily data, we want to compute the price for the European option. This is actually done by Monte Carlo, running a large number of simulations. Our main interest is to “see” the effects of a long-range market memory from our expOU model in its subsequent European call option. We pay attention to the effects of the existence of a broad range of time scales in the volatility. We find that a richer set of time scales brings to a higher price of the option. This appears in clear contrast to the presence of memory in the price itself which makes the price of the option cheaper.

In this paper, European option pricing with stochastic volatility forecasted by well known GARCH model is discussed in context of Indian financial market. The data of Reliance Ltd. stockprice from 3/01/2000 to 30/03/2009 is used and resulting partial differential equation is solved byCrank-Nicolson finite difference method for various interest rates and maturity in time. Option pricing under the double stochastic volatility with double jump model

In this paper, we deal with the pricing of power options when the dynamics of the risky underling asset follows the double stochastic volatility with double jump model. We prove efficiency of our considered model by fast Fourier transform method, Monte Carlo simulation and numerical results using power call options i.e. Monte Carlo simulation and numerical results show that the fast Fourier tra...

Estimation and Pricing under Long-Memory Stochastic Volatility

We treat the problem of option pricing under a stochastic volatility model that exhibits long-range dependence. We model the price process as a Geometric Brownian Motion with volatility evolving as a fractional Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process. We assume that the model has long-memory, thus the memory parameter H in the volatility is greater than 0.5. Although the price process evolves in continuous ...

رویکرد روش مونت کارلوی کمترین مربعات برای قیمت گذاری اختیار فروش آمریکایی چند دارایی تحت مدل هستون-هال وایت

In this paper, we study the problem of pricing multi-asset American-style options in the Heston-Hull-White model. It is widely recognized that our intended model compared to the original Heston model, due to its stochastic interest rate and stochastic volatility, is more compatible with the realistic of the market. We demonstrate the efficiency and accuracy of the our proposed method by verifyi...
